Love is the very centre of who God is.

As we step into 'Love Thy Neighbour' this month, Pastor Jeff called us back to the heart of the Christian life: make room for love.

Through 1 John 4, we were reminded that love is not just something God does. God is love. Real love does not originate in us. It flows from Him. If we try to manufacture it from our own limited resources, we will quickly run dry. But when we plug into the source, we receive a love that is steady, sacrificial, and transformative.

We were encouraged to grasp the costly fullness of Christ’s love for us. Not a performance-based love. Not a love that fluctuates with our good or bad days. A love demonstrated at the cross. A love that came first.

And then the challenge. If we have received this love, we are called to pass it on. To love one another intentionally and practically. John makes it clear that when we love others, God’s love is brought to full expression in us. As we give it away, we experience more of Him.

Perfect love drives out fear. Fear of judgment. Fear of not being enough. Fear of rejection. As we live rooted in His love, confidence grows. Freedom grows. The Church becomes marked not by performance, but by presence and devotion to one another.

There is an invitation to make room. Make room in your heart to receive God’s love fully. Make room in your life to love others beyond convenience or comfort. Because when we love one another, the world sees Him.
