This week, Pastor Jeff took us into John 10, where Jesus declares, “I am the good shepherd.” Speaking to people who had experienced poor leadership and heavy religious burdens, Jesus paints a completely different picture of God. He is not a distant ruler or a hired hand. He is the shepherd who knows His sheep by name, leads them with care, protects them, and lays down His life for them.
At the heart of this passage is one of Jesus’ most famous promises: “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” This is an invitation into life with Him right now, shaped by His presence, His voice, His peace, and His ways.
Drawing on both Ezekiel 34 and Psalm 23, Pastor Jeff reminded us that Jesus is the fulfilment of God's promise to personally shepherd His people. Where others have failed, Jesus succeeds. Where others have abandoned, Jesus remains faithful. He is the shepherd who seeks, restores, guides, and loves His flock.
We were encouraged to ask two simple questions: Do I know the voice of Jesus? And am I following His ways? The rich and satisfying life Jesus offers is found not just in believing He exists, but in walking closely with Him day by day.
